Singer and Indian Idol judging panel member Neha Kakkar has garnered 2.4 million followers on Instagram in April. Kakkar’s latest music video “Marjaneya“, composed by Rajat Nagpal and featuring Big Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla has garnered over 44 million views on YouTube since its release on 18 March.

The 32-year-old has had a very successful 2020 and was recognised by audio streaming giant Spotify for being the most-streamed Punjabi as well as Hindi female artist of the year. Kakkar was also the most-followed Indian celebrity (excluding sportspersons) on Instagram with 20 million new followers last year.

The singer currently has 56.6 million followers and recently raced past actress Deepika Padukone to become the 4th most-followed Indian on the platform.

Television actress and YouTube star Anushka Sen (Jhansi Ki Rani) has gained around 2.5 million new followers on Instagram last month.

The 18-year-old teen sensation was recently seen in BLive Music’s video Teri Aadat, sung by Abhi Dutt, alongside Siddharth Nigam (Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga). The music video has amassed over 31 million views on YouTube since its release on 15 March 2021.

The actress will be playing the role of a tribal girl in upcoming adventure drama “Country of Blind”, written and directed by Rahat Kazmi. The long-delayed film also features Hina Khan (Hacked).

Anushka Sen currently has over 17.5 million followers on Instagram.

Dancer and actress Nora Fatehi has also gained over 2.5 million new followers on Instagram in the past month. The 29-year-old celebrity’s music video “Dilbar” from the film Satyameva Jayate (2018) that instantly propelled her to international fame has recently clocked over 1 billion views on YouTube.

Fatehi’s latest music video, titled “Chhor Denge”, featuring Ehan Bhat (99 Songs), has amassed over 284 million views on YouTube since its release on 4 February.

The talented self-taught dancer is awaiting the release of war-drama “Bhuj: The Pride of India”, produced by T-Series and starring Ajay Devgan (Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior), Sonakshi Sinha (Lootera) and Sanjay Dutt (Torbaaz), in which Fatehi is playing the role of a spy. Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya in his feature film directorial debut, the espionage-thriller is scheduled to release on Disney + Hotstar on 15 August 2021.

Nora Fatehi currently has 27 million followers on Instagram.

Rashmika Mandanna (Mission Majnu) has had a phenomenal follower growth on Instagram in the past year. The 25-year-old actress has gained 2.5 million new followers in April 2021 and has broken into the list of Top 50 most-followed Indians on the platform with 16.6 million followers by overtaking her colleagues Tamannaah, Pooja Hedge and Shruti Haasan.

Rashmika, who was last seen in Tamil film Sulthan opposite Karthi, is currently working with Amitabh Bachchan (Pink) on Bollywood drama Goodbye, directed by Vikas Bahl (Queen). She is also awaiting the release of Telugu action-thriller Pushpa opposite Allu Arjun (Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo), directed by Sukumar (Rangasthalam), and Aadaalloo Meeku Johaarlu, helmed by Kishore Tirumala (Nenu Sailaja), alongside Sharwanand (Mahanubhavudu).

Indian television actress and social media star Jannat Zubair Rahmani (Tu Aashiqui) has gained 2.6 million followers on Instagram in April 2021.

Rahmani’s latest music video “Lehja“, sung by Abhi Dutt and featuring Mr Faisu aka Faisal Shaikh, has clocked 27 million views on YouTube since its release on 2 April 2021. The teen sensation has recently posted on Instagram a video of herself dancing to “Seeti Maar” song from the upcoming Salman Khan – Disha Patani starrer Radhe, gaining admiration from her fans.

The 19-year-old actress, who has also starred in 25 music videos so far, has 28.2 million followers on Instagram.

Note: The above list excludes sportspersons and politicians. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has gained over 6.1 million new followers on Instagram in April 2021 and is currently the most-followed Indian on the platform. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has amassed 2.4 million followers on Instagram last month.
