Golden Globes 2021: Nomadland, Borat sequel and The Crown win top awards
The 78th Golden Globes presentation ceremony took place on Sunday 28 February 8pm ET/5pm PT/1 AM GMT (Monday). The event was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, returning for the fourth time, after hosting in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
In addition to the categories announced today, the Golden Globes honoured actress Jane Fonda (Grace and Frankie) with the Cecil B. deMille Award, and producer/writer Norman Lear (One Day at a Time) with the Carol Burnett Award. Lear is the third recipient of the recently created Carol Burnett Award, which honours contributions to television.
“Nomadland” won the Best Picture – Drama and the controversial Borat sequel was adjudged the Best Picture – Musical/Comedy category.
Netflix’s “The Crown” won the most awards in the television category including Best Drama Series, Best Television Actress – Drama for Emma Corrin, Best Television Actor – Drama for Josh O’Connor and Best Supporting Actress for Helena Bonham Carter.
The nominations were announced on 3 February.
