Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves tops the global box office with $71.5M

Dungeons & Dragons opened with $71.5 million gross at the worldwide box office across 61 territories, including $38.5 million at the North American box office. The heist action-comedy film, directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis and Hugh Grant released to positive reviews from critics and audiences.

John Wick: Chapter 4 dropped 54% in its second weekend to collect $63.2 million across 76 territories. Directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård and Laurence Fishburne, the action-thriller grossed an estimated $28.2 million across 3,855 locations at the North American box office.

Japanese film Suzume, which was the second highest-grossing film worldwide last weekend, continued its impressive performance with $27.94 million across seven territories taking its worldwide gross to $221.12 million. The animated fantasy adventure, directed by Makoto Shinkai (Your Name), is the sixth highest-grossing Japanese film of all-time.

Superhero sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods dropped 45% in its third weekend, grossing $11.92 million across 79 territories, taking its global tally to $119.59 million. The David F. Sandberg directorial, starring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel portraying the older and younger versions of the titular character, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou and Helen Mirren grossed $4.72 million at the North American box office in its third weekend, dropping 49% from its second weekend. In comparison, the original film Shazam! (2019) grossed $367.8 million globally.

Chinese film Hachiko grossed $8.98 million in its opening weekend. The drama revolves around a dog waiting for the return of its owner even 10 years after the owner’s death.

Slasher sequel Scream VI, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, starring Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere and Courteney Cox, earned $8.8 million across 55 territories in its fourth weekend, taking its tally to $152.72 million. The sixth instalment of Scream has surpassed the global gross of its predecessor Scream 5 (2022) and is the fourth highest-grossing film of the series.

Creed III, directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors has raked in $7.7 million across across 72 territories ($5million in North America) in its fifth weekend, taking its total worldwide gross to $258.57 million.

Chinese comedy Post Truth (original title: Bao ni ping an), directed by and starring Chengpeng Dong, is the eighth highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office this weekend with $6.46 million, taking its tally to $84.48 million. The film, revolving around a cemetery salesman who embarks on a road trip to clear up the rumours surrounding his client, is yet to release in international markets.

65, directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and co-produced by Sam Raini, starring Adam Driver and Ariana Greenblatt posted $3.68 million in its fourth weekend. The science-fiction action-thriller has earned $54.78 million so far against an estimated budget of $45 million.
