S.S. Rajamouli’s films at this year’s Beyond Fest
Beyond Fest, the highest-attended genre film festival in the US, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The festival will screen over 60 feature films across 5 locations: Aero Theatre, Los Feliz 3, TCL Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Legion Theatre and IMAX Headquarters in Playa Vista.
This year, Beyond Fest has partnered with American Cinematheque, IMAX, Variance Films, Potentate Films and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles to salute Indian filmmaker S. S Rajamouli (RRR) with a month-long tribute showcasing his iconic filmography. Titled “From Tollywood to Hollywood’, SEVEN of Rajamouli’s films will be screened at the festival between 30 September and 23 October with the legendary filmmaker himself attending some of the screenings that will be followed by a Q & A session. All films will be presented in their original Telugu version with English subtitles, and intermissions will be observed as originally intended by the filmmaker.
In addition, S. S. Rajamouli will also guest program the American Cinematheque’s ‘Sunday Print Edition’ at the Los Feliz 3 and introduce a black and white 35mm screening of Charlie Chaplain’s 1931 silent classic, City Lights (1931).
